HOW LONG WILL MY INSPECTION TAKE?
An average home inspection takes two to three hours and covers over 300 individual items. Scheduling is fast and easy: over 95% of Home Raters inspections are scheduled to occur in less than two working days.

CAN I ATTEND THE INSPECTION?
Home Raters encourages you to attend the inspection. Your specific concerns and questions can be readily answered or explained and potential problems are immediately understood, preventing confusion when you go over the report.

All Home Raters' inspectors are covered by company sponsored workmen's compensation, general liability, and errors and omissions insurance.

IS MY HOME ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE?
Home Raters can help you determine if your home is Environmentally Safe as well as structurally sound. We offer additional fee testing for:

  • RADON -- a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. Home Raters can help you place a charcoal test kit in the home or can install and operate a complete electronic test. We are an EPA licensed radon inspection company.
  • LEAD -- a commonly occurring element which can cause chemical sickness. Home Raters can test the lead level in your drinking water by using a state-of-the-art laboratory analysis. Lead paint is easily identified with our fast and convenient test kit.
  • ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION -- a possible cancer-causing radiation emanating from high tension wires and radio waves. Home Raters can measure the level of this unseen radiation.
  • ASBESTOS -- asbestos fibers are a proven source of lung cancer.
  • UNDERGROUND TANKS -- a leaking underground tank can pollute your property.
