DO YOU PROVIDE GENERAL BUILDING TROUBLE SHOOTING?
Yes. This can include water intrusion studies, EIFS inspections, or Forensic Engineering. We have found that there are few companies that have the expertise or inclination to do this.

EXPLAIN WATER INTRUSION STUDIES.
Moisture intrusion in buildings has become an important concern. Left unchecked, it can cause mold or damage to structural and non-structural components.

When our client discovers a water problem that might be causing mold, we get called in. As building scientists, we understand the flow of humidity and moisture in properties. We visit a property in order to isolate the cause of the water that is damaging the building. More importantly we are then able to recommend methods to eliminate the moisture.

A number of our clients have become quite enthused about our ability to help them solve water / moisture intrusion problems in their properties.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO DO THESE STUDIES?
We have three different types of moisture meters: thermal infrared cameras, digital thermometers, and gas detectors.

HOW ARE YOU CERTIFIED TO DO THIS?
We have a Registered Professional Engineer on staff. That individual is also certified by the Exterior Design Institute as a Moisture Analyst.

WHAT DOES A STUDY CONSIST OF?
It consists of two parts. The first is the actual field investigation. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the project. We find that most of the field work, i.e. understanding the moisture problem, takes about an hour.

The second part is the write up. You can decide what is best for your purposes. The write up usually consists of a letter documenting our findings, and suggesting methods to resolve the problem.

CAN YOU PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR NECESSARY REPAIRS?
If it helps you, our Registered Professional Engineer would be happy to prepare the plans and specifications for the actual repairs. Understand that this is in addition to the actual study and can result in an additional service charge.

CAN YOU SUPERVISE THE REPAIRS?
Yes, of course. As this is an additional service, there would be an additional fee.
